Many young adults today have moved to new cities to pursue their careers, away from their family, friends, and parish. Most go to Mass at a new church and have no one to sit with and feel alone. We all crave and need community. Small groups are a way to build relationships and friendships with other young Catholics who are in similar places in life by getting to know others on a deeper level and be challenged to grow in their faith together. While it may be intimidating to join a group where you don't know anyone, we ask that you commit to the group you sign up for for the whole semester (Spring: Jan-May; Summer: May-Aug; Fall: Aug-Dec) to get the most out of your group. Small groups are also great for those who are busy because they take very little time. Groups typically meet for about an hour and a half every other week.
For the Fall 2019 semester, we are offering one women's group and one mixed group. Please sign up using the "Small Group Registration" form on this page. Sign-ups will only be available from Aug 4-10, and spaces are very limited--it is first come, first served!
Small group meetings kickoff the week of Aug 18-24. This is when you'll meet your leader and other group members and get more details about your group, so it is very important that you are there. You will receive an email from your group leader after you sign up with the location for your first meeting which will take place the following week. Please make sure you buy the book listed for your group.

"I am a Montgomery native and am married to my high school sweetheart. We go to church in Tallassee where we teach Sunday school. I wanted to lead a small group this semester because this group has helped me in my prayer life and in making new friends. I hope to provide that for others."
• Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m.; every other Tuesday, starting Aug 27th. (Kickoff meeting Aug 20th)
• Location: To be determined at first meeting. First meeting location & other details will be emailed.

ABOUT GREG & LIDIA MITCHUM:
We have been married for 12 years and have two children. We are members of Holy Spirit parish. Greg came into the Catholic Church in 2016 and Lidia is a lifelong Catholic. In the spring of 2017, we enjoyed being members of the mixed group and felt called to begin leading it together. We really enjoy leading. We love the fellowship and the relationships that have grown over time. We love praying for individuals of our group and the group as a whole. Being leaders has helped strengthen our faith and marriage."
